Stormless Vows is a crisp, well-paced story of a love that’s been neglected. It’s hard to say if it’s a comedy first built around a love story, or a love story that’s just downright funny. For the younger readers, it could be Mom and Dad’s story. For the older reader, it is life with some very touching twists. As our couple, Harmon and Mildred, try to work things out, there is constant interference from their two sons, their friends and, of course, their attorney.

Originally a stage play, Stormless Vows was first performed in Los Angeles in the late 1980s, starring Russ Marin and Madelyn Cates. This updated version brings even more warmth and laughs. It’s a delightful read that will leave you with a smile.

Book synopsis

It’s been 25 years since Harmon and Mildred Childs married. In that time, Mildred has raised two sons and built an exceptional advertising agency. STORMLESS VOWS is a wild ride from Hollywood to New York, with plenty of down-home Wyoming grit. It’s a story of being middle-aged and how we sometimes need a wake-up call. It’s a story brimming with fun characters and entertaining dialects – a standard found in most of Dean’s books.

Set aside a few hours and have a few giggles with this charming romantic comedy. It’s light, fast-paced reading.
