Since I have cats, I was very interested. We have grand-dogs, who visit. But our cats rule our lives it would seem. Again, Jim did a wonderful job on this book. He has a real knack for describing the way our pets act, and also giving them a child-like connection to God. He seems to have special insights into the lives of cats and dogs!

Cat That God Sent Jim Kraus 9781426765612 Books Reviews

Humorous, fun to read and kept me reading to see how it turned out. Characters were well built even though it was a short novel. If you believe God administers miracles and puts people in the right place at the right time this is a book for you. I've seen this in my own life and was happy to read a book that wrote it well.
Having never read anything by this author, I was intrigued by the title, "The Cat that God Sent." This was a suggestion for me on , so I downloaded it to my and began to read. The story was charming and heart warming, about a Pastor struggling to find his own faith. The arrival of the cat, Petey, added a fun and whimsical element. As the story progressed, we see the faith of everyone involved blossoming. The finish was better than I hoped for and brought a tingle to my own faith. I highly recommend this story and I will be checking out the other books from Jim Kraus.
This book began by introducing the three main characters in the story, Pastor Jake, Petey ~ the cat that God sent ~ and a young, homeless girl named Tassy. Of the three, the only one who actually had faith in God was Petey. He was sent to Pastor Jake the first day he arrived at his new church as pastor. Tassy ended up homeless in the same small town after being kicked out of her ex-boyfriend's car while headed to California.
Although it may sound a bit like a soap opera by my description, it's actually one of the most moving and most honest examples of learning what life without faith is like that I have ever read. But the best and most important part of the book is when they realized how wonderful their lives became when their faith was restored!
Such a fun story. A pastor is hired for a small time church, he's troubled, lost faith and feels like a fraud. A cat, led by God, shows up on his doorstep and continues to implant himself into pastor's life, even showing up on the stage of the church to listen to the sermons. The cat, named Petey, guides many of the townspeople to the church and as the story progresses helps many to regain faith and hope which they've lost. I totally enjoyed this quick read and can see me rereading the story.
Pastor Jake arrives at his new church in the small town of Coudersport, Pennsylvania. The town is very small and one of the main meeting places is a MacDonalds. As Pastor Jake moves into his new home a stray cat comes up to him and "adopts" him. The cat has a sore paw so he takes the cat to the local vet, Emma. A few days later a runaway girl, Tassy comes to town and is allowed to live in a huge RV parked in back of the church. The town is so small it only takes a few hours for anything new to make its way around the town's rumor mill. Pastor Jake has a secret from his former life as an associate pastor he hopes to keep from the town. Tassy and Emma also have secrets. This is a good Christian fiction story that will give you life lessons.
Wish I had found this book a long time ago but now I have and I loved it so much. Have had cats most of my life (currently have three). As I read this book by Jim Kraus, it was very believable to me that a cat could bring us to God, that a cat could be smart enough to try to talk to us (communicate, because they do) and that they would also be smart enough to try to protect us. I totally loved the author's storyline unfolding as it did. It made me smile, laugh and feel sad at times. While reading many of the thoughts Petey had, I could imagine one of my own cats thinking the same thoughts. Can't recommend this book more highly. Want to give it ten stars but have to settle with just five. Will be getting copies to any of my friends who haven't already read it. Next book to read will be The Dog That God Sent by Jim Kraus.
I read many books. I remember few of them after a few weeks or some times just a few days. The Cat the God Sent I believe I will never forget. I can identify with Jake ( the main character) and Petey (one of God's favorite cats). I think that of all God's creatures cats are some of the most special. If you are a Christian you must read this book. It has a special message for all Christians and non Christians. The book is very well written and I am sure that I will read all books written by this author. I can not say enough good things about this book. Thank you Jim Kraus for such a meaningful book.
