If things couldn’t be any worse, the bank account that Jada and Richard shared has been used to send payments to an offshore Cayman account. What has Richard gotten her into? She’s being followed by a black SUV. What’s happening? Will she get involved with the D.A.? Will they find out whose causing all of her problems? Who is behind, the Cayman accounts? Will she be convicted? The plot was genius and kept the reader enthralled throughout the book. The character development was also great as well. I couldn’t give this a 5 star, because I felt that there was too much sex throughout the book, too much for my taste. In fact, the sex scenes became very boring for me. The book would have been great without them.

I have to say that I absolutely loved this book and it made want more from Rebecca Rohman. I kept reading the teasers and thinking this book sounds so good until I just had to have it. I was not disappointed!!

I won't write a synopsis of the book because the blurb is better than I can ever do and I don't want to give anything away about the book. I will tell you that Jada is one strong ass independent woman who has her world knocked out from under when she catches her fiancee and best friend/maid of honor having sex a week before the wedding! She decides she needs to get away and goes to Lake Tahoe and there she meets Jonathan, the newly appointed DA that is rude, so full of himself and HOT! But things continue to go downhill for Jada from there when her ex-fiancee turns up dead and she is the prime suspect. Her lawyer brother gets her the best defense attorney around who just happens to be Jonathan's father! She can't escape Jonathan. He's everywhere. Now the question is...Who killed the cheating fiancee? What is going to happen with Jonathan and Jada now? Will Jonathan's father be able to help Jada? So many questions and all will be answered in this amazing book!!
Excellent story with love,corruption, mystery, murder and loss. Jada a hotel entrepreneur who was about to get married to Richard returns home early catching him with her best friend Koto having sex. Jada is devastated with the infidelity and deception of people she has trusted for years. Richard turns up dead execution style and she is the probable culprit being named. Jonathan the D.A. meets Jada in Lake Tahoe at a restaurant and is immediately taken with her and in order to get her attention he uses deception with the help of the waitress there where Jada is not having his demands and keeps eating her meal. Jonathan loves a strong woman and has never had one to stand up to him.
Love, Lies & The D.A. by Rebecca Rohman... Well I think that title pretty much says it all. This is a book that is set in California and it’s filled with love yet disloyalty, lies but has sincerity and features one sexy District Attorney book boyfriend! Said D.A. is Jonathan Kole and his leading lady counterpart is Jada McLean.

When Love, Lies & The D.A. starts you don’t really have a good read on Jonathan. Is he a total douche or what? Have I mentioned this is a bit (understatement. lol) of a suspense novel? Rebecca lets things play out at first and it leaves us wondering about Mr. Explicit’s (Jada’s oh-so-sweet term of endearment for him at the start) motives and intentions. Well, I don’t want to spoil it for you but I do believe you will be nothing short of drooling for him. He’s a successful man who loves dogs, respects family, and is as brave as they come (especially when it means protecting Jada). I could have stopped after loves his pups, huh?! Well, for me. at least.

Jada McLean self-made, powerhouse, and mental strength of ten. Those are some adjectives I would use to describe her. On the flip side I would also say she’s been burned by relationships, caught in a dangerous mess, and questioning her own judgement. Jada is a supremely complicated, well thought out and written character. She’s an in control, business savvy heroine yet she’s still easily relatable to someone who may not be exactly like this with her thought process and even some insecurities within. She’s got a funny, sarcastic little bite too that will have you in stitches and Jonathan certainly doesn’t mind it either!

Now, as I said earlier, this is a romantic suspense novel. It does have the world “Lies” in the title after all. If it wouldn’t have made the title ridiculously long then Rebecca should have added in “corruption,” “deceit,” “deceptive,” and “thrilling” to the title too. Only in the best way these words could be used to describe a storyline though. It was a page-turner that kept me up WAY past my bedtime and I definitely had a few coffee fueled days from staying up to be with Jada and Jonathan. You’re suspicious of EVERYONE within the story. I may have even accused people that totally didn’t deserve it. This isn’t the first Rebecca Rohman novel I have read after all… I wasn’t about to let her pull the wool over my eyes again so I was suspicious of EVERYONE. Needless to say she still succeeded in pulling some plot point tricks on me. Congrats Rebecca. Dang it! But that’s the fun of a romantic suspense novel, right?!

But bad guys aren't the only thing that’s scary here. Sometimes, especially when you’ve been hurt it’s frightening to give your heart to another…

Sounds great, huh? It is. Love, Lies & The D.A. is a book I would and will recommend. It’s got all the great elements of a fantastic read; engaging characters, a storyline that will have you gripping your e-reader a little too hard, and a pull causing you to want more. This book has been on my TBR list for a long time and frankly, I’m a little mad I waited so long. I will definitely be checking out whatever Rebecca Rohman comes up with next and you should too!
